The Northwestern Wildcats won only four conference games last season and were eliminated in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament by a team that only won seven conference games.
Needless to say, they have some rebuilding to do.
However, one of their top prospects in four star shooting guard Joe Bamisile will not be apart of that rebuilding process.
Bamisile is nationally ranked No. 62 in the class of 2020 according to 247 Sports and showed great interest in Northwestern, even orally committing to the Wildcats back in April.
But it obviously wasn’t the fit Bamisile was looking for. He announced via twitter that after careful discussion with family and friends, it was better for him to continue his basketball career at Virginia Tech.
After speaking with my family, i’ve decided to decommit from northwestern. i want to thank the Virginia tech staff for having me. #gohookies turkey pic.twitter.com/jDVTxiK0D2

Bamisile is a Virginia native, so the switch doesn’t come as a huge shock, but Northwestern fans will mourn the loss of a player that could have lifted them up over the next few seasons.
