Late last week, Indiana fans got some exciting news as 2020 prospect Anthony Leal announced that he would be committing to the Indiana Hoosiers. This is certainly exciting news for Archie Miller and his staff.
Indiana by birth, Hoosier by choice. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/kR0E5f8vdu
— Anthony Leal (@anthonyl3al) August 9, 2019
Leal comes out of Bloomington, Indiana and plays just a few miles from Assembly. He is currently rated as a four-star prospect and as the top player in the state by 247Sports. He is currently listed as 6-foot-5 and 195 pounds by the recruiting site. Along with Indianaa, he had offers from Bradley, Butler, and Evansville among others.
Perhaps the strongest area of Leal’s game comes from long-range, as he is regarded as one of the better shooters in the area for the 2020 class. This should be well received from Hoosier fans, considering Indiana ranked dead last in the Big Ten in three-point shooting during conference play last season. Leal will hope to change that when he arrives.
With his addition, Indiana’s 2020 recruiting class now features two commitments and is ranked 15th nationally. They join what looks like a pretty solid 2019 recruiting class, including top 20 prospect Trayce Jackson-Davis. Fans have to be excited about how those players will look in the years to come.
