NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Second Round-Maryland vs LSU Matt Stamey-USA TODAY Sports

On April 18th, Head Coach Mark Turgeon and the Maryland Terrapins received some exciting news. Two-star recruit Hakem Hart announced via Twitter his commitment to play for the Terps next season.

Hart is listed as a 6-foot-5 and 185 lbs shooting guard by 247Sports. Hart comes out of Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His other college offer came from Saint Joseph’s. Hart originally committed to Saint Joseph’s but changed his mind after changes in the coaching staff were made.

While numerous sources teeter on whether Hart is a two or three-star recruit, Coach Turgeon saw exactly what he needed for Hart to join the Maryland basketball program.

Hart joins Makhi and Makhel Mitchell along with Donta Scott in the Maryland class of 2019 that is currently ranked as the third best recruiting class in the Big Ten and 28th in the country by 247Sports.

Mark Turgeon will also return nearly all of his regular rotation players as the Terrapins set their gaze on another NCAA Tournament appearance.
