The Hauser brothers transfer question concluded yesterday with Joey transferring to Michigan State and Sam transferring to defending champion Virginia.
There was initial talk about the brothers transferring together, and they even took visits together, but in the end, decided to go their separate ways.
Take a look at the transfer announcement from Joey.

Joey will sit out this season and then have three more years of eligibility starting in 2020-21. With Michigan State likely to have some roster turnover after next season, this is a huge win for the Spartans and Tom Izzo.
Joey came to Marquette as the no. 52 ranked player in the country according to the 247Sports composite. He averaged 9.7 points per game next season and 5.3 rebounds. He’s already proven to be a deadly shooter from three averaging 42.5 percent on 106 attempts. Take a look at some highlights from his high school days.
The Hauser brothers also considered Wisconsin and Iowa. The brothers passing on Wisconsin is especially painful because they are from Wisconsin, visited together when considering the Badgers, and one ended up choosing a major in-conference rival. There was some speculation that both committed to Wisconsin, but backed out at the last minute. Sam Hauser shot down that rumor on Twitter. Joey retweeted it.

Regardless, Michigan State gained a key contributor after next season that should keep them in the upper echelon of the Big Ten. The conference shouldn’t expect anything different.
[Note: an earlier version mentioned the Hauser brothers as twins.]
