The 2019 Gavitt Games schedule is set. A tweet via Jon Rothstein released the matchups set for the 2019 season matchups between the Big Ten Conference and the Big East.

The Gavitt Games are a series of matchups between teams of the Big Ten and Big East played in the beginning of a team’s season. There are eight contests between these two conferences each year and have proven to be key games early in a contender’s season.

This upcoming season displays numerous matchups that could spark the attention of college basketball fans everywhere.

Michigan State of the Big Ten is set to square off against Seton Hall. The reigning Big Ten Champs and early preseason favorite Spartans will look to go 4-0 over Seton Hall all-time. The Pirates, however, will look to gain some early season momentum and return to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight year.

Purdue will take on Marquette during this season’s Gavitt Games as well. After loosing both the Hauser brothers as transfers, Marquette will not only look to bounce back from their first round loss, but with a new team and new look in 2019. The Boilermakers will try to be the one’s to stop them.

While Purdue also looses leading scorer and star point guard Carsen Edwards to the NBA Draft, the Boilermakers will also bring in a new looking team into this primetime matchup.

Other contests that are set to be apart of the Gavitt Games include; Villanova at Ohio State, Creighton at Michigan, Providence at Northwestern, Georgetown vs. Penn State, Butler vs. Minnesota and DePaul at Iowa.
