Grad Transfer Jahaad Proctor Commits to Purdue Boilermakers

The 6’3” scoring guard was a top target for Matt Painter and staff.

Jahaad Proctor is a 6’3”, 215 pound guard out of High Point University. He can score from the perimeter and take it to the rim, forcing contact. This past season he attempted 166 free throws while averaging 34 mpg. Proctor is a very welcomed addition by Painter and staff for the 2019-2020 season. The Boilermakers will need to fill some of the scoring load left behind by their top two scorers, Ryan Cline and All American Carsen Edwards.

The two time All Big South Second Team selection will surely help the Boilermakers stay in contention in the Big Ten this winter. Whether it will be in a starting role or providing depth from the bench remains to be seen.

The veteran experience that Proctor can help provide on one of the younger rosters in the country cannot be understated. It does seem that the Boilermakers have their sights set on an immediate reload and pursuit of a repeat Big Ten Championship.
