On Tuesday, the Minnesota Golden Gophers got some exciting news as 2019 prospect Isaiah Ihnen announced that he would be committing to the program. This was huge news as Richard Pitino and his staff are turning the corner and preparing for a new season.

Ihnen is listed as 6-foot-9 and 190 lbs by 247Sports and comes out of Germany. Along with Minnesota, he also had serious attention from programs including Arizona State, Stanford, TCU, and Tennessee.
While Ihnen comes to campus with a four-star rating, there will be plenty of questions about his evaluation given his international status. Either way, his size and raw athleticism should help alleviate some of those concerns.
Pitino and his staff still have their work cut out for the 2019 class, but Gopher fans have to be excited about bringing Ihnen into the fold.
