Earlier this month, the Big Ten put out a press release detailing the upcoming conference opponent matchups for the league next season. This is the second season where the Big Ten will be protecting rivalry games. The Illinois-Northwestern, Indiana-Purdue, and Michigan-Michigan State games will now be played twice every season.

This is also the second season where the Big Ten will move to a 20-game slate. In previous seasons, the Big Ten only played 18 conference games. This is in hopes of creating a more balanced schedule. A more detailed version of the schedule will be released by the the Big Ten at a later date.
