The Big Ten only has one game on Super Bowl Sunday, but it’s an important one. Minnesota will go on the road to face Purdue. Both teams have been hot lately and will be hoping to score a solid win to open February.
Let’s take a look at today’s Big Ten action.
Game of the Day:
-Minnesota Golden Gophers at No. 17 Purdue Boilermakers
- Time/TV: 12:00PM (BTN)
- KenPom Spread: Purdue (-12)
Both of these teams have had their ups and downs so far this season, but each seems to be playing its best basketball right now. Purdue is red hot after having won 9 of its last 10 games and the Gophers have won three of the last four with the only loss coming on the road against a top five Michigan team.
On paper, Purdue should have the advantage in this one. The Boilermakers have been fantastic over the last few weeks and will get this one at home. However, Minnesota has shown the ability to surprise teams on the road. The Gophers knocked off Wisconsin in Madison and nearly beat Michigan in Ann Arbor as well. So, Purdue will have to be ready if it hopes to hold off Minnesota.
The matchup to watch will be Carsen Edwards against a relatively young Minnesota backcourt. Can Dupree McBrayer or the underclassmen slow down Edwards? They will need to if Minnesota is going to pull off this upset.
- Pick Against the Spread: Purdue
