The AP and USA Today Coaches’ polls were released earlier this week for Week 7 of the season and five Big Ten teams were fortunate enough to make the cut. Notably, four of the teams landed inside the top 15 in the AP Poll. All told, it was an encouraging performance for the Big Ten.
Here is where the Big Ten landed:
Week 7 AP Poll:
- No. 5 - Ohio State
- No. 7 - Maryland
- No. 14 - Michigan
- No. 15 - Michigan State
- No. 23 - Penn State
- Receiving Votes: Iowa, Purdue, Indiana
Week 7 USA Today Coaches’ Poll
- No. 4 - Ohio State
- No. 8 - Maryland
- No. 15 - Michigan
- No. 18 - Michigan State
- No. 24 - Penn State
- Receiving Votes: Purdue, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois
While it was disappointing to see Michigan and Michigan State slide over the last few weeks, it was encouraging to see Penn State land in the polls. Other teams like Indiana and Purdue are also getting some momentum. Fans will hope a few more teams can get into the discussion in the coming weeks.
Either way, BTPowerhouse will continue to keep fans posted moving forward.
