Recap all the Big Ten action from Friday night.

The Big Ten only had one game on Friday night, but it was a good one between Indiana and Nebraska in Bloomington. The Hoosiers were looking to keep things rolling after a win over UConn and the Huskers were hoping to pull off the upset.

Let’s take a look at what happened.

Game of the Night:

-Indiana Hoosiers 96, Nebraska Cornhuskers 90 (OT)

This game ended up being about as evenly played as you’ll ever see. Indiana pulled ahead narrowly in the opening minutes, Nebraska responded, and the two keep this thing within a few buckets throughout. And when neither team was able to pull away in regulation, it went to overtime. Indiana ended up grabbing a narrow 96-90 win there.

The win pushed Indiana to 10-1 overall and 1-1 in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers have played a soft schedule to date, but remain in great shape to push for the postseason and beyond. And while Friday night’s win probably won’t end up looking huge on paper, Indiana was able to add a win to its resume and avoid what would have been a tough upset at home.

On the other side, Nebraska suffered another heartbreaking loss and fell to 4-6 overall and 0-1 in Big Ten play as a result. It’s only mid-December, but Friday night’s loss further cements that Nebraska will likely only be playing for pride in the months ahead. A postseason bid already seems like a stretch at this point. We’ll see if that can change with some big games coming to Lincoln in the near future.

Indiana will now have a week off before getting back into action next Saturday in the annual Crossroads Classic against Notre Dame. Meanwhile, Nebraska will prepare to face off against Purdue at home on Sunday.
