Earlier this week, the Iowa Hawkeyes announced that redshirt sophomore forward Jack Nunge had suffered a torn ACL and was expected to miss the rest of the season. It was disappointing news for Hawkeye fans.
Iowa power forward Jack Nunge has a torn ACL and is out for the season. Big blow for the team; he was just starting to play really well. Will have a full story up shortly

Nunge had played in all five games for the Hawkeyes so far this season and averaged 6.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Given that Nunge redshirted last season, this was obviously a significant step up for the big man.
McCaffery had the following to say in a university release:
“All of us feel for Jack,” said McCaffery. “This is an unfortunate setback for a young man who spent countless hours in the gym and weight room last year preparing for this season. Jack has the full support of his teammates and coaches during his recovery.”
Iowa will now have to lean more on Cordell Pemsl and and Luka Garza in the frontcourt to carry things without Nunge present. Both are more than capable of getting things done, but it’s still disappointing news for Hawkeye fans. Everyone certainly wishes him the best moving forward and for a quick recovery.
