The AP and USA Today Coaches’ polls were released earlier this week for Week 3 of the season and three Big Ten teams were fortunate enough to make the cut. In fact, all three teams were not only ranked, but ended up in the top 10. All told, it was an encouraging performance for the Big Ten.
Here is where the Big Ten landed:
Week 3 AP Poll:
- No. 3 - Michigan State
- No. 6 - Maryland
- No. 10 - Ohio State
- Receiving Votes: Purdue
Week 3 USA Today Coaches’ Poll
- No. 3 - Michigan State
- No. 7 - Maryland
- No. 9 - Ohio State
- Receiving Votes: Purdue, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin
While it was disappointing to see Michigan State lose the top spot in the polls earlier this season after falling to Kentucky, the Big Ten still performed really well. Three teams in the top 10 and a handful of other teams receiving votes is a decent position. Fans will hope a few more teams can get into the discussion in the coming weeks.
Either way, BTPowerhouse will continue to keep fans posted moving forward.
