Over the weekend, the Michigan State Spartans got some exciting news as 2020 prospect AJ Hoggard announced that he would be committing to the program. The exciting development comes as Tom Izzo and the Spartans prepare to enter what many think will be a massive season in East Lansing.
Four-star guard AJ Hoggard becomes the third member of Michigan State’s 2020 recruiting class. Program’s now at the full 13 scholarships for the 2020-21 season

Hoggard is listed as 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds by 247Sports and comes out of Huntington Prep in West Virginia. Along with Michigan State, he also had offers from programs including Dayton, Providence, and UConn among others. He is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and as the 15th best point guard in the class.
With his commitment, Michigan State now has three recruits in its 2020 recruiting class, which is ranked fourth nationally by 247Sports. All three players are top 75 players and Mady Sissoko is rated 37th nationally. And with players like Malik Hall and Rocket Watts arriving with the 2019 class, Michigan State figures to have a pretty talented group of players for the next few seasons.
Izzo and his staff still have their work cut out for the 2020 class, but Spartans fans have to be excited about bringing Hoggard into the fold.
