Earlier this week, Iowa fans got some exciting news as 2020 prospect Tony Perkins announced that he would be committing to the Iowa Hawkeyes. This is great news for head coach Fran McCaffery and his staff.

Perkins comes out of Indianapolis, Indiana and is currently rated as a three-star prospect and the 11th best player in the state by 247Sports. He is currently listed as 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds by the recruiting site. Along with Iowa, he had offers from Ball State, Bradley, and Miami (OH) among others.

With his commitment, Iowa presently has four players in its 2020 recruiting class. Two of those commitments followed Perkins. The class is now rated 57th nationally by 247Sports and figures to provide valuable depth for the Hawkeyes moving forward.

There’s little debating that Perkins will arrive with a solid pedigree and be projected to be a solid contributor in the Big Ten moving forward. McCaffery and fans will have to be excited about that moving forward.
