On Wednesday, CBS Sports publicized its list of preseason All-Americans heading into the 2019-’20 college basketball season. Its list is one of the most well-regarded set of player rankings out there at the moment.
The Big Ten found itself well represented with two players making the cut, including one that landed on the first team. Obviously, that speaks to the talent that fans got to watch during the course of last season in the Big Ten.
Here’s a full look at the selections below.
2019-’20 CBS Sports Preseason All-Americans:
-First Team:
- Kerry Blackshear (Florida)
- Markus Howard (Marquette)
- Jordan Nwora (Louisville)
- Myles Powell (Seton Hall)
- Cassius Winston (Michigan State)
-Second Team:
- Cole Anthony (North Carolina)
- Devon Dotson (Kansas)
- Tre Jones (Duke)
- Isaiah Stewart (Washington)
- James Wiseman (Memphis)
-Third Team:
- Udoka Azubuike (Kansas)
- Jarron Cumberland (Cincinnati)
- Ayo Dosunmu (Illinois)
- Anthony Edwards (Georgia)
- Killian Tillie (Gonzaga)
Seeing Winsotn make this list is no surprise given how he played last season, but Dosunmu making the third team is also pretty notable. The sophomore guard is hoping to lead the Illini to the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in quite some time. Many are extremely excited about what he could do for the Illini this season.
Perhaps the most notable absence was Maryland’s Anthony Cowan, who many think could be one of the nation’s best guards this season. He will have to try and prove CBS Sports wrong this season.
