The AP and USA Today Coaches’ polls were released on Monday for week 10 of the season and five Big Ten teams were fortunate enough to make the cut. Only two of the teams were in the top 10, but it was still an encouraging performance for the Big Ten. Michigan’s spot near the top of the rankings was also impressive.
Here is where the Big Ten landed:
Week 10 AP Poll:
- No. 2 - Michigan
- No. 6 - Michigan State
- No. 16 - Ohio State
- No. 22 - Indiana
- Receiving Votes: Wisconsin (27th); Iowa (28th); Minnesota (29th); Purdue (30th); Nebraska (31st); Maryland (32nd)
Week 10 USA Today Coaches’ Poll
- No. 4 - Michigan
- No. 5 - Michigan State
- No. 17 - Ohio State
- No. 24 - Indiana
- No. 25 - Iowa
- Receiving Votes: Wisconsin (26th); Nebraska (29th); Minnesota (34th)
While this was a step back from last week’s number (seven teams) in the top 25, it’s still a pretty impressive performance. And that’s even more evident when one considers that six Big Ten teams were in the receiving votes category in the AP poll. This brings back memories of those loaded years for the Big Ten in 2013 and 2014. And right now, it looks like fans could be in for another huge season for the conference.
Either way, BTPowerhouse will continue to keep fans posted moving forward.
