Franklin is a four-star guard out of Indianapolis that is ranked by 247Sports Composite rankings as the sixth best prospect from the state of Indiana and the 133rd best recruit in the 2019 recruiting class. Franklin chose the Hoosiers over a number of schools including Purdue, Xavier and Butler.
“He’s a guy who can guard multiple positions, play multiple positions,” said Cathedral head coach Jason Delaney. “He can post up, he can drain a long 3 and take it to the basket. He can kind of do everything.”
Franklin originally played as a forward prior to last season when he made the switch to point guard. His size at 6’4” should allow him to match up against either guard or smaller forwards, while he’ll bring some versatility as a capable defender that can also run the point. After making the switch to guard he averaged 23 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while hitting on 35% of his three pointers as a junior.
