Penn State hosts high-profile recruits for first home football weekend

Pat Chambers continues to out kick his coverage by getting top rated prospects to State College

NCAA Basketball: NIT-Penn State vs Mississippi State Nicole Sweet-USA TODAY Sports

While the football team was busy avoiding an upset Saturday afternoon, Pat Chambers was looking to lay the foundation for a few of his own when he and Penn State basketball entertained a number of high-profile recruits this past weekend.

Philadelphia native and 2019 rising swing forward Donta Scott has long been a sought after member of Chambers’ upcoming recruiting class and was on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit.

And thanks to legendary Philadelphia basketball insider Delgreco Wilson, who accompanied Scott on his visit, we have some insight on what the four-star prospect experienced during his time in State College.

Also of note, and in Happy Valley this past weekend, was four-star 2020 center Elijah Hutchins-Everett. And while it’s still early in the recruiting process for the 6-foot-10 New Jersey native, he did pick up an offer from Penn State following his visit.

Lastly, and even further down the road, 2021 guard Tyler Rice picked up an offer from the Nittany Lions following his visit and has all the makings of a marquee signing, should he ultimately elect to call State College home.
