There’s little debating that no Big Ten team had a better 2017-’18 season than the Michigan Wolverines. After a mixed start, Michigan got hot and was able to go on an epic 14-game winning streak that ended with a Big Ten Tournament title and a Final Four.
To celebrate last season’s accomplishments, Michigan will be raising both its Big Ten Tournament and Final Four banners on November 6th before the home game against Norfolk State. All told, these will be head coach John Beilein’s fifth and sixth banner raisings since he took over in Ann Arbor.
Last year’s Michigan team finished with an impressive 33-8 overall record and with 22 wins against top 100 teams on KenPom. Those 33 wins also included two wins over rival Michigan State, one over Ohio State, and an incredibly last second victory over Houston in the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
And there’s one other thing that will make November 6th a special night for fans. The first 5,000 U-M fans to enter will receive a mini-banner celebrating the two newest Wolverine championships.
Michigan had a special team last year and it will get the honor it rightfully deserves as the team tips off for next season.
