The Wisconsin Badgers got some huge news on Wednesday afternoon when news broke that Ethan Happ would be returning to school for one more year. He had declared without an agent for the 2018 NBA Draft, but fans learned that he would now be returning to school.
Have had some unbelievable experiences in Madison so far... coming back for one more special season. Can't wait to get back in the gym w/ the fam #OnWisconsin pic.twitter.com/Ooyx54PrB7

During his three seasons in Madison, Happ has been an absolute monster. He has averaged 14.7 points and 8.3 rebounds a game and has been fantastic on the defensive side of the court as well. Happ also came up big for the Badgers in the postseason, scoring 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds in the team’s upset of Villanova last season.
Happ originally entered Wisconsin’s program without a great deal of hype, but stepped up following superstar Frank Kaminsky’s graduation following the 2015-’16 season. Happ has been one of the best players in the Big Ten since he moved into the starting role.
There’s little denying that this is huge news for the Badgers moving forward. Happ was easily the team’s most productive player last season and getting him back should help Greg Gard and his staff move forward from a tough year.
Whether Wisconsin can achieve its goals next season with Happ back in the fold remains to be seen, but this is exciting news for Badger fans. We will see how much damage he does next year with a more experience roster alongside him.
