The 6’10” forward will be immediately eligible for the Hoosiers and will fill Indiana’s final remaining scholarship for the upcoming season.
Fitzner chose the Hoosiers over a host of mid-majors, including Utah, Boise State and Tulane. The forward also cancelled a trip to Piscataway before visiting Bloomington. The senior will be looked at as a three point specialist that can also clean up on the glass. During his three seasons with the Gaels he shot 41.4% from three while averaging 6.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
It is worth mentioning that Fitzner did fall out of the starting rotation last season, starting only seven games in 2017-18 after starting all 69 games he played in his first two seasons.
Regardless, Fitzner’s ability to shoot from outside will be a nice addition for a Hoosier team that ranked 315th in the nation in three point shooting percentage.
