On Saturday, the Michigan Wolverines tipped off for a Round of 32 matchup against the Houston Cougars for a shot to advance to the Sweet 16. However, as the game unfolded, it looked like Houston would get the job done. Michigan trailed with just a few seconds left on the clock and Wolverine fans were figuring that it was all over.
Tweets included the following:
Welp. That's game.

That should do it for Michigan.

Houston fans were also pretty confident about finishing things off. Here are some tweets from Cougar fans and the like celebrating the Sweet 16 appearance:

Ouch, Michigan blows a wide open layup and is going home. Sometimes the easiest shots are the least practiced. #GoBlue

But, as often happens in March, many were celebrating too early. Michigan had other things on its mind. And Jordan Poole went on to hit one of the more improbable shots in program history.
