2018 Big Ten Tournament Preview: #12 Iowa Hawkeyes vs #5 Michigan Wolverines

After scoring in the 90s last night, can Iowa repeat their success and pull off an upset?

NCAA Basketball: Michigan at Maryland Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The No. 12 seed Iowa Hawkeyes not only advanced to the second round of the Big Ten tournament last night, but they did it in style, scoring 96 points with two different players scoring in the 20s, Luke Garza and Jordan Bohannon.

No. 5 seed Michigan Wolverines haven’t played since a dominating win at Maryland, scoring over 50 points in the first half of the game. If Iowa plays like they did last night, this could quickly turn into an offensive shootout.

These teams have faced each other twice, with the first game played in Iowa, in which the Wolverines pulled away in the last few minutes to get a seven point victory.

The second meeting didn’t go quite as planned for the Hawkeyes, traveling to Michigan to lose by 15 points. Michigan fully controlled that game and didn’t seemed faze at all by Iowa.

Michigan is just playing way to well at the moment to pick against them, especially in March. Wolverines win big in a high scoring affair.
