12/5 Big Ten Preview: Ranked Teams Go On the Road

#24 Nebraska and #19 Ohio State face first Big Ten road tests

NCAA Basketball: Nebraska at Clemson Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

After each moving to 1-0 in conference play, #24 Nebraska and #19 Ohio State both go on the road to close out their early December Big Ten play. Nebraska travels to “the Barn” to play Minnesota, who is coming off a double digit loss to Ohio State, and Ohio State moves two states over to battle Illinois, who lost to a hot Nebraska team at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

You can preview both of these games below.

Game of the Night

- #24 Nebraska Cornhuskers at Minnesota Gophers

  • Time/TV: 9:00 PM ET BTN
  • Spread: Nebraska (-3)

Coming off a dominant win over Illinois, Nebraska looks to continue their win streak after being ranked in the AP Poll for the first time since 2014. The Big 3 for Nebraska, Glynn Watson Jr., Isaac Copeland, and James Palmer Jr. have really come alive the past couple of games, so they will be a vital part in picking up a conference win on the road.

For the Gophers, they will have to work in the paint, as the Huskers have been one of the best perimeter defenses in the country this season. They’ll have to get Jordan Murphy the ball early, and often if they want to stay in this game.

  • Pick Against the Spread: Nebraska

The Rest

- #19 Ohio State Buckeyes at Illinois Fighting Illini

  • Time/TV: 7:00 PM ET BTN
  • Spread: Oho State (-5.5)

Even though they suffered a tough loss to Syracuse at home, the Buckeyes responded well in their first Big Ten game, controlling the entire game against Minnesota.

Kaleb Wesson and CJ Jackson have led this team so far, while Trent Frazier continues to represent Illinois well, very much like last season.

Ohio State should win this game easily, but Brad Underwood’s defensive aggressiveness could cause troubles for the Buckeyes offense.
