The AP and USA Today Coaches’ polls were released on Monday for week five of the season and eight Big Ten teams were fortunate enough to make the cut. Only two of the teams were in the top 10, but it spoke volumes about where the Big Ten is sitting.
Here is where the Big Ten landed:
Week Five AP Poll:
- No. 5 - Michigan
- No. 10 - Michigan State
- No. 12 - Wisconsin
- No. 18 - Iowa
- No. 19 - Ohio State
- No. 23 - Maryland
- No. 24 - Nebraska
- Receiving Votes: Purdue (26th); Indiana (35th)
Week Five USA Today Coaches’ Poll
- No. 5 - Michigan
- No. 10 - Michigan State
- No. 16 - Wisconsin
- No. 17 - Ohio State
- No. 19 - Iowa
- No. 23 - Maryland
- No. 24 - Purdue
- No. 25 - Nebraska
- Receiving Votes: Indiana (37th)
There’s little debating that this was a huge performance for the Big Ten. The league had eight teams make the top 25 in the Coaches’ Poll and one other received votes. This harkens back to those loaded years for the Big Ten in 2013 and 2014. And right now, it looks like fans could be in for another huge season for the conference.
Either way, BTPowerhouse will continue to keep fans posted moving forward.
