After a very slow week, the Big Ten will continue its huge weekend with two games. Nebraska will face Oklahoma State and Michigan State gets to host an overmatched Green Bay team at home.
Let’s take a look at today’s Big Ten action.
Game of the Day:
-Nebraska Cornhuskers vs Oklahoma State Cowboys
- Time/TV: 7:00PM ET (BTN)
- KenPom Spread: Nebraska (-6)
There isn’t a ton of attention on this game nationally, but it’s actually an important one for the Huskers and the Big Ten. With non-conference play nearing its conclusion, there are only so many more opportunities to grab quality wins and Nebraska will have one on Sunday with a neutral court matchup against Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma State enters this game on a three-game skid, but is still 65th nationally on KenPom and had a really nice win against LSU earlier this season. Michael Weathers is the key piece for the Cowboys in the backcourt. He dominates the team’s usage stats and is really effective at getting to the free throw line.
For Nebraska, this is a chance to keep things rolling. The Huskers blew out Creighton in the team’s last game and are sitting at 8-2 overall. This is a game that Nebraska should win, which makes it even more important. A loss would be a big blow to a team that’s expected to push for the NCAA Tournament at season’s end.
- Pick Against the Spread: Nebraska
The Rest:
-Green Bay Phoenix at Michigan State Spartans
- Time/TV: 5:00PM ET (BTN)
- KenPom Spread: Michigan State (-25)
After an absolutely brutal six-game stretch between Thanksgiving and last Saturday, Michigan State will get an opportunity to settle down with a home game against Green Bay on Sunday. There isn’t a ton to look forward to in this one. The Phoenix at 6-5 and outside the top 200 teams on KenPom. If Michigan State shows up, it should win easily.
- Pick Against the Spread: Michigan State
