After falling to the Villanova Wildcats 79-62 in the 2018 NCAA National Championship, the Michigan Wolverines seek revenge, but they must do it Nova’s brand new stadium, “The Finn”.
Luckily for the Wolverines, they won’t have to deal with the “Big Ragu”, Donte DiVincenzo, who scored 31 points in the Wildcats victory. On the other hand, Michigan will be without Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman, who managed 23 points. New faces will have to step up for their team to win this game.
You can preview this game and the rest below:
Game of the Night
- #18 Michigan Wolverines at #8 Villanova Wildcats
- Time/TV: 6:30 PM ET - Fox Sports 1
- Spread: Villanova (-7)
Through two games, Michigan is 2-0, but has only averaged 59.5 points per game. Both of their matchups came against Non-Power 5 Conference teams, so tonight we will see what their offense can actually do against a top 10 team.
For Villanova, they’ve racked up the points, averaging 93 points per game. Villanova’s biggest threats come from last year’s team, Eric Paschall and Phil Booth, both seniors. Stopping them is a necessity for Michigan to win this game.
- Pick Against the Spread: Villanova
The Rest
- Seton Hall Pirates at Nebraska Cornhuskers
- Time/TV: 7:30 PM ET - Big Ten Network
- Spread: Nebraska (-8)
Coming into the season as potential Big Ten Champions, Nebraska hasn’t disappointed. They’ve held their two opponents, Mississippi Valley State and SE Louisiana, under 37 points, and have scored 80+ in both games. Glynn Watson Jr. and James Palmer Jr. have led the way so far, but any player in the starting lineup can take over a game.
Seton Hall, while still good, doesn't boast the same talent as it has in the past couple of seasons. Myles Powell leads the Pirates, averaging 30 points per game and 71 percent from behind the arc. Watson Jr. will have his hands full when in man-to-man defense.
- Pick Against the Spread: Nebraska
- #24 Marquette Golden Eagles at Indiana Hoosiers
- Time/TV: 8:30 PM ET - Fox Sports 1
- Spread: Indiana (-5.5)
Archie Miler’s team has looked good this year, getting to 104 points in their first game, then 80 in their second. The Hoosiers are led by freshman Romeo Langford and senior Juwan Morgan, both averaging in the double digits for points.
Marquette comes into Indiana as an addition to the AP Top 25, with junior Markus Howard leading the way with an average of 26 points per game. Howard averaged 20 points per game last season, so the Hoosiers must contain him to win this game.
- Pick Against the Spread: Indiana
- UL-Monroe Warhawks at #11 Michigan State Spartans
- Time/TV: 7:00 PM ET - Big Ten Network+
- Spread: Michigan State (-25)
The Spartans took a tough loss to the Kansas Jayhawks in the first game of the season, but responded nicely against Florida Gulf Coast, scoring 106 points.
Led by their big three, Joshua Langford, Nick Ward, and Cassius Winston, Michigan State looks to take care of business tonight. Worth noting, Winston is already averaging 9.5 assists per game.
