The Nittany Lions added another recruit to their 2018 recruiting class this weekend with the news that 6’11” center Tolu Jacobs has committed to the program.

Jacobs is a 6’11” center from Arizona and is ranked by 247Sports Composite Rankings as the 36th best center and 4th best recruit from the state of Arizona. Jacobs chose the Nittany Lions over a number of schools that offered, including Georgetown, Nevada and San Diego State.
He joins a 2018 class that also includes 3-star point guard Rasir Bolton and 3-star combo guard Myles Dread. 247Sports currently ranks the class as the 10th best in the conference and 46th best overall.
Big Ten Rolls In Recent Exhibition Games
The Big Ten went 5-0 over five exhibition games on Thursday and Friday:
- Iowa 96, Belmont Abbey 64
- Maryland 88, Randolph-Mason 44
- Minnesota 106, Concordia 58
- Michigan 82, Grand Valley State 50
- Michigan State 75, Hillsdale
Illinois Drops Charity Exhibition Game at Eastern Illinois
Illinois and Eastern Illinois met in a charity exhibition game last night at a sold out Lantz Arena. Things didn’t go to well for the Illini.
The Illini shot 40% from the field and committed 19 turnovers. Leading the team in scoring was Kipper Nichols with 16 points.
While they took a 42-38 lead into the break, they were outscored by the Panthers 42-25 in the second half. Eastern Illinois retook the lead with 17:41 in the second half and used a 12-2 run to put the game out of reach down the stretch.
Illinois will host Southern on the 10th in their season opener this Friday.
