Another day, another commit for Michigan basketball.
This time it’s 6’10” Colin Castleton, a four-star forward from Florida that chose the Wolverines over Illinois and Florida. Castleton was also previously a Purdue target, though that changed when four-star center Emmanuel Dowuona committed to the Boilermakers last month. Castleton is ranked by 247Sports composite rankings as the 117th best prospect in his class, 30th best power forward and 13th best player from the state of Florida.

“I liked the feel, the culture and the coaching staff,” Castleton said. “Coach Beilein doesn’t lie, he’s straightforward. He didn’t promise me any playing time or anything like that, but the players are all great.”
The news of Castleton’s commitment came days after three-star guard Adrien Nunez announced his commitment to the program. Both commits came shortly after the decommit of three-star forward Taylor Currie.
With five commits for 2018, 247Sports now lists Michigan’s recruiting class as the top in the Big Ten and third nationally. It should be mentioned that the Wolverines are now on pace to be one scholarship over in 2018, however there’s the possibility of Moritz Wagner heading to the NBA after the season.
While things could change as other teams add recruits over the coming months, Michigan has produced one of the top recruiting class in the Big Ten and should help prove a strong foundation for the program heading forward.
