NBC Sports recently started releasing a number of lists and preview pieces with the college basketball season about two weeks away. Yesterday they posted their best frontcourt and backcourts, with the Big Ten being represented in both lists.

The Big Ten was represented on their best frontcourts list by four different teams, which can be seen below:

  • Michigan State (1st)
  • Purdue (13th)
  • Minnesota (16th)
  • Iowa (18th)

While not as high up on their best backcourts list, the Big Ten still had several teams represent the conference:

  • Michigan State (16th)
  • Minnesota (17th)
  • Northwestern (19th)

With Michigan State being listed as having both the highest ranked frontcourt and backcourt in the Big Ten, it’s no surprise that the Spartans are the overwhelming favorites this year in the Big Ten. The return of Miles Bridges for his sophomore season will have a huge boost on the Spartans and finally having a healthy frontcourt should pay dividends this season.

Also of interest, NBC Sports also started their top 100 players list, with the first 50 players being announced over the last couple days. The following Big Ten players have made the cut so far:

  • Carsen Edwards (Purdue - 100th)
  • Kevin Huerter (Maryland - 95th)
  • Scottie Lindsey (Northwestern - 94th)
  • Tyler Cook (Iowa - 84th)
  • Bryant McIntosh (Northwestern -57th)
  • Amir Coffey (Minnesota - 55th)
