The Badgers took a hit last night with the news that four-star guard Tyler Herro has de-committed from the Badgers. The loss of Herro leaves the Badgers 2018 class thin, with only three-star center Joe Hedstrom currently committed to the program.

Herro, who is ranked as a top 50 prospect by all of the major recruiting services, was the most notable recruit for Wisconsin set for 2018. With the thin recruiting class, Wisconsin is currently ranked by 247Sports as having the 13th best class in the Big Ten.

The news comes at a problematic time for Wisconsin, especially with signing day nearing. Wisconsin will have a pair of scholarships left for their 2018 class.

According to a few people that cover Wisconsin basketball, the news wasn’t a complete surprise as they had heard of it potentially happening several months prior.

With Herro moving on from Wisconsin, it’s being reported that the guard is potentially considering North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky and Arizona.
