2017 3-Star Guard Maxwell Evans Lists Purdue In Top 10

Purdue is on a run right now and here's another prospect added to that list.

Purdue Boilermakers saw their name on another prospects list. Maxwell Evans is a 6-foot-2 combo guard who made his announcement via Twitter, cutting his list down to 10 schools.

Purdue offered Evans on July 18 according to his Twitter account and his decision didn't take long in reducing his schools.

The Bellaire, Texas product is a three-star prospect according to 247sports.com and is the 11th rated combo guard on their list.

Evans is a crafty left-handed guard who can do it all, shoot, pass, defend and use his physical tools against opponents. With that being said, his visible strength is in his athleticism, which stands out over everything else and is an enticing ability for these 10 programs.

The other nine teams besides the Boilermakers in contention for Evans are VCU, SMU, Wake Forest, Kansas State, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Boise State, New Mexico and the University of Houston.

There is only one Big Ten, ACC, SEC and Big 12 school on his list, so Purdue has a great opportunity to sign him. The guard position is something Purdue has lacked in recent years so adding a combo guard who can play in either guard spot would add much needed depth.

With Evans decision, head coach Matt Painter can add him to his list of recruits who've currently kept his program on their short list, including two ESPN 100 players.
