Indiana Hoosiers and Purdue Boilermakers In The Hunt For 2018 Five Star Guard Romeo Langford

It is already evident Langford will have a chance to play anywhere in the country that he chooses.

The No.2 prospect in the class of 2018 saw some social media face time on Tuesday afternoon thanks to a tweet from Phenom Hoop Report’s Julius Kim.

Kim did clarify with a follow-up tweet stating that this is not Romeo Langford’s finalized top-10. The graphic appears to just be showing the major programs that have offered the 6-foot-5 shooting guard.

The Indiana Hoosiers and Purdue Boilermakers join a host of “blue blood” programs that are seeking the services of the already highly coveted guards. Of course there is always added incentive for IU and Purdue when it comes to keeping top prospects in the home state.

Other Big Ten schools that have shown interest in Langford, but not made an offer yet include the Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Langford led his New Albany Bulldogs to the 4A title in Indiana this past season, averaging over 30 points per game along the way. Langford will without a doubt be the unanimous favorite to win the 2018 Indiana Mr. Basketball title.

Along with being the No.2 prospect for 2018, Langford is No.1 both for the Hoosier state and for shooting guards in the class. 247Sports currently has the Duke Blue Devils as the clear favorite to land Langford.

Langford is drawing a lot of comparisons to Indiana high school basketball legend Damon Bailey. Langford has a realistic shot at topping Bailey’s all-time IHSAA boy’s basketball scoring record of 3,134 points, which has stood since 1990.
