The Big Ten's No. 2 seeded team in Indianapolis has been selected to the 2016 NCAA Tournament and officially know their place in this year's bracket. The Michigan State Spartans went 29-5 overall, 13-5 in Big Ten regular season play, and 3-0 in the Big Ten Tournament with wins over Maryland, Ohio State, and Purdue. Michigan State was led by Big Ten Player of the Year Denzel Valentine and All-Big Ten second team member Bryn Forbes.
The Spartans were selected as a No. 2 seed in in the Midwest Region. They will face Middle Tennessee in the Round of 64 with a matchup against Dayton or Syracuse awaiting, if the Spartans advance.
