The Big Ten's No. 8 seeded team in Indianapolis has now been selected to the 2016 NCAA Tournament and officially know their place in this year's bracket. The Michigan Wolverines went 22-12, 10-8 in Big Ten regular season play, and 2-1 in the Big Ten Tournament with wins over Indiana and Northwestern and a loss to Purdue. Michigan was led by All-Big Ten third team member Derrick Walton, Jr. and All-Big Ten Honorable Mention player Zak Irvin.
The Wolverines were selected as one of the "First Four" to play for a No. 11 seed in the East Region. They will face Tulsa in the "First Four" with a potential Round of 64 matchup against Notre Dame and a Round of 32 matchup against West Virginia or Stephen F. Austin, if Michigan advances.
