The Big Ten only had one matchup on Friday night, but coasted to an easy win in it. While it wasn’t a night that will impact much for the Big Ten down the road, it was a chance for Indiana to add another win to its resume and build off its huge win over North Carolina earlier this week.
Here’s a look at what happened on Friday.
Game of the Day:
-Indiana 83, SIU Edwardsville 60
KenPom set the spread at 15 entering the game and Indiana was able to clear that by a pretty decent margin. That might not sound particularly impressive, but considering that OG Anunoby missed the game, that’s actually a pretty decent accomplishment. As Hoosier fans will remember well, the last game he missed was the loss to Fort Wayne.
The top performance of the night was Juwan Morgan, who finished with an impressive 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 183 offensive rating. James Blackmon, Thomas Bryant, and De’Ron Davis also finished with at least 10 points.
One other note is that Indiana did nice job of slowing down SIU Edwardsville freshman guard Christian Ellis. He had a lot of momentum coming into Friday’s matchup, but Indiana held him to just six points and a brutal 64 offensive rating.
This will largely be a forgettable game for Hoosier fans moving forward, but it was still an important one as the program continues to move forward this season.
