2017 Power Forward Commits To Indiana

The Hoosiers land a key 2017 forward.

On Sunday, Indiana got some major news for its 2017 class as the program landed a commitment from 2017 prospect Clifton Moore. The recruitment has picked up significantly over the last few weeks and ended in a commitment.

Moore currently has a pretty limited set of evaluations by the recruiting services. This is largely because Moore’s recruitment has increased dramatically over the last few weeks. This was detailed by City of Basketball Love earlier this year.

That recruitment landed Moore plenty of quality offers before his commitment. Some of those programs included Northwestern, Ole Miss, Saint Joe’s, and Temple among others. He visited Indiana over the weekend.

With his commitment, Moore becomes the third commitment in Indiana’s 2017 recruiting class. He joins guard Aljami Durham and forward Justin Smith. None of these prospects are considered elite by the recruiting services, but they are nice recruits that could develop into quality Big Ten players.

On paper, Moore projects as a depth option in Indiana’s frontcourt during his first two years with the program. However, considering that OG Anunoby and Thomas Bryant are both legitimate NBA prospects, there could be a real avenue for early playing time for Moore as a sophomore, or even a freshman.

Moore’s commitment probably won’t get a ton of attention on the national pulse, but it is a nice one that could add depth going forward. It will be interesting to see how he continues to develop and progresses before coming to Bloomington.
