Brooklyn Nets To Bring In Minnesota's Austin Hollins For 2015 NBA Summer League

The former Minnesota guard has yet to earn a permanent place in the NBA, but he will be playing this summer for the Brooklyn Nets.

Though former Minnesota guard Austin Hollins has yet to play any significant time in the NBA, news has broke that he will be participating in the NBA Summer League this year.  Hollins has spent his time after leaving Minnesota playing professionally in France and is hoping to take the next step into the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets this summer.

Hollins played four seasons at Minnesota from 2010 to 2014.  During this time, Hollins played in a total of 141 games including more than 30 games in each season.  His best year with the Gophers was arguably the 2013-14 season where he averaged 33.1 minutes, 12.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.  In his four seasons, Minnesota made the NCAA Tournament in 2013 and won the NIT in 2014.

Since his time with Minnesota, Hollins went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft and signed a one year deal to play with Denain of the LNB Pro B.  During the 2014-15 season, Hollins played in 35 games for Denain averaging 8.51 points, 1.69 rebounds, and 0.74 assists per game.  The team went 24-17 overall.

Now, Hollins will turn his eyes to the NBA and hope that he can take the next step in his career and earn a roster spot in the NBA.  He will certainly have to show NBA teams more in Summer League play to keep this dream alive, but he will at least have an opportunity to prove himself with the Nets.
