With the Big Ten moving closer to the end of the regular season and we will be updating our 2015 Big Ten Tournament bracket more often. Instead of a weekly update, we will be posting updates after each set of games have concluded. As such, we will take a look at the bracket following Thursday's game.
The concept is pretty simple. Each time, BTP will breakdown how the Big Ten Tournament projects as of that moment. For instance, today's bracket will be set as of the night of Thursday, March 5, 2015. I have taken the liberty of looking at the Big Ten records and using the Big Ten tiebreaker scenarios to see where teams will land. Things will certainly move, but it is still interesting to see as of this moment. Let's take a look.
2015 B1G Tournament Bracket (3/5):
Thoughts
There was only one game on Thursday night for the Big Ten and it was between Minnesota and Wisconsin. As such, there weren't many changes in the bracket from Wednesday night, but there were a few notable changes that could be important for the rest of the week and into the Big Ten Tournament.
The first change was at the top. Wisconsin maintained the #1 seed, but they officially clinched the Big Ten title outright and locked up the #1 seed. Maryland still had an outside shot, but with Wisconsin's win over Minnesota, that went out the window and the Badgers will down their home uniforms throughout their trip to Chicago next week.
The other change was near the bottom between the #10 and #11 seeds. With Minnesota's loss, they slid to the #11 seed and now are slated to play on Wednesday. The Wildcats continue their rise up the standings and move up to #10 thanks to their head-to-head win over Minnesota. The Gophers now need a win this weekend and a loss from Northwestern to move back into the single bye.
BTPowerhouse will have more bracket updates as the week continues so stay tuned.
