The Big Ten's #8 seeded team in Chicago has now been selected to the 2015 National Invitational Tournament and officially know their place in this year's bracket. The Illinois Fighting Illini went 19-13 overall, 9-9 in Big Ten regular season play, and 0-1 in the Big Ten Tournament with a loss to Michigan. Illinois was led by All-Big Ten Honorable mention members Malcolm Hill and Rayvonte Rice.
The Illini have been selected as a #3 seed in the NIT. They will face Alabama in the Round of 32 with a matchup with Miami (florida) or NC Central awaiting in the Round of 16 if Illinois is able to advance. The top seed in the region is Richmond.
