Big news out of Bloomington as Tom Crean has announced that the team will be adding Jordan Fuchs, who is a member of the football team to the roster. The Hoosiers have been struggling with a variety of injuries all year and were looking to add some size and depth to the roster.
Fuchs has played tight end for the Hoosiers and is listed as 6'6" and 230 lbs. He is currently a freshman and played in 12 games for the Hoosiers last season. He caught three passes including one touchdown.
As a high school player, Fuchs was considered to be a serious basketball prospect and received many major offers including offers from Iowa State, Florida, and SMU before opting to play football for Indiana.
Tom Crean stated the following about the addition:
"Jordan is someone we've been aware of for some time now and had he not gotten injured in the Purdue game and had to recover from that we would have brought over to evaluate earlier. We worked with him since last week and with Coach Wilson's blessing we are adding Jordan at this time. He has considerable basketball experience and brings size, athleticism, toughness and a tremendous competitive attitude."
This could be a major addition for Indiana and one that could provide depth as Indiana tries to fight through injuries and move closer to the NCAA Tournament. He is with the team as they prepare to face Maryland on the road.
