Fran McCaffery and the Iowa Hawkeyes picked up a big-time recruit over the weekend, and McCaffery didn't even have to leave his home to do the recruiting. Class of 2017 three-star small forward Connor McCaffery, who is Fran's son, announced Saturday he would be playing for his father at Iowa. Connor becomes Iowa's first commit in the Class of 2017.
McCaffery is currently the 52nd best player in the Class of 2017, and the best player in the state of Iowa. His high school team is coming off a state championship season in which he was a solid player across the board, averaging 6.1 points per game, 4.5 assists per game, and 2.4 rebounds per game. As his film shows, he has good range, and a high basketball IQ which is to be expected of the son of a coach.
