Stauskas To Work Out for Lakers, Celtics

The former Wolverine has announced his first two individual team workouts as the draft rapidly approaches.

Former Michigan wing Nik Stauskas is set to take on his first two individual workouts for NBA teams in the upcoming weeks as the early departure prepares for the NBA Draft.

Stauskas had originally met with the Celtics during the draft combine but this will be his first two workouts for teams showing interest in the 6'6 forward. If either team ends up drafting Stauskas it could result in Nik being a top ten pick as the Celtics hold the sixth pick and the Lakers the seventh. Of course the Celtics could hold off until their second pick (17th overall), though there's been considerable speculation about Stauskas landing all over the mid-first round with mock drafts putting him anywhere from the ninth pick to the 17th overall pick.

Stauskas is one of three early departures from Michigan that are headed to the NBA draft. However, Stauskas is the only one considered to be a lock for a first round selection while a number of analysts believe Glenn Robinson III and Mitch McGary could end up in the second round. Stauskas broke out in his sophomore season averaging 17.5 points per game and shooting 44.2% from beyond the arc on his way to earning Big Ten player of the year honors.

We'll have more as it develops for Stauskas and the rest of the Big Ten hopefuls as they start their professional careers. The NBA Draft will take place in less then a month on the 26th.
