As the 2014 NBA Playoffs continue to progress, we here at BTP have been documenting the former Big Ten players that are participating in each round. There were a total of 14 former Big Ten players that participated in this year's NBA Playoffs. Though that number has taken some hits, there are still some former Big Ten players that will be participating in the NBA Conference Finals.
Overall, there are a total of 2 Big Ten players left in the 2014 NBA Playoffs. What is also notable is that both players are participating in the Eastern Conference Finals on different teams, which means that there will be at least 1 player left in the NBA Finals. Here are the players participating:
Big Ten players in the Conference Finals of the 2014 NBA Playoffs:
Indiana Pacers
- Evan Turner (Ohio State)
Miami Heat
- Greg Oden (Ohio State)
What is also notable is that Ohio State, who led all Big Ten programs in former players in the 2014 NBA Playoffs, is the only Big Ten program with players left. This is certainly a stat that Buckeye fans will want to remember. This is also a stat that Big Ten fans will want to keep a watch on over the next few seasons. With what could be a historic Big Ten Draft class in 2014, these numbers could really start to take a step forward over the next few seasons.
