The Big Ten has announced a new ticket policy for the Big Ten Tournament. Check out the press release below:

CHICAGO, IL. - Mar. 5, 2014 - The Big Ten Conference and Forward Market Media (FMM) today announced the opening of the TeamTix reservation system for the 2014 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament Championship Game. Through this unique Forward Market system, fans can reserve a face-value, premium ticket to one of the season's biggest games and only pay for that ticket if their team makes it - ensuring if their school heads to the championship game, they will have the best seats in the house to watch.

This will be the ninth time the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament will tip off in Indy and for the second consecutive year, the conference office has already announced that the tournament is officially sold out. The Big Ten Tournament Champion will be crowned on March 16 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, winning an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. These TeamTix reservations allow basketball fans across the nation to gain VIP access to this big game, while avoiding paying for a ticket if their team doesn't make it.

The Big Ten continues to drive innovation and change in the digital sports and entertainment industry. This year's forward market represents the 19th market offered by the Conference and Network using the FMM Forward Market platform.

Here's how it works: starting March 5, basketball fans from any of the Big Ten schools can go to http://bigten.teamtix.com, to select their favorite team and purchase a TeamTix ticket reservation for as little as $20. If their team makes it to the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament Championship Game, those fans are obligated to purchase a ticket at face value. If the team they specify does not qualify, their TeamTix expires and the fans forfeit only the reservation fee. Tickets on the market are located in a prime spot, on the lower level, across from the team benches, making for an unforgettable in-game experience.

"We are honored to be teaming up with the Big Ten Conference once again, and hope that the expanded ticket options will offer basketball fans an even more exciting and valuable experience," said Tim Browne, President, Forward Market Media. "We are committed to providing fans access to their bucket-list events and are thrilled to add the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament Championship Game to the growing number of TeamTix events."

The Forward Market is a tested and proven model that has helped thousands of people access the events that matter most to them, including The BCS National Championship Game, The Rose, Orange and, Sugar Bowls and Pro Football's Biggest Game, since the company's launch in 2010.
