Not much movement at the top of the poll for Big Ten teams this week. Wisconsin remains the best overall rated team in the league. They are now tied with Arizona for second, but lost four first place votes they received last week.
Ohio State moved up four spots to number 16. While Michigan had the largest jump of any Big Ten team moving up five spots from 24 to 19. Michigan State dropped one spot from 19 to 20. Nebraska was the only Big Ten team to move out of the ratings this week after their loss to Rhode Island on Saturday.
There are also 5 teams receiving votes this week; Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota and Nebraska. Iowa who was on the cusp of being ranked last week with 48 votes, didn't receive any this week after dropping back to back games. Minnesota almost doubled their votes this week and will probably be the next Big Ten team to be ranked as long as they keep winning.
Overall not a lot of gripes this early in the season. Teams like Indiana and Illinois will have to prove that they can beat better teams before they will be considered legit this season. Minnesota and Nebraska will have to fight their way back from early losses before they will get back into the rankings. The Big Ten ACC Challenge will be a great opportunity for all the Big Ten teams to move up the perceived pecking order.
