Check out the top games for the Big Ten this week.

Over the weekend, college basketball and the Big Ten tipped-off its season in exciting fashion.  Though many of last weekend's games featured relatively uncompetitive contests, there were some exciting games featured including last week's Big Ten Game of the Week between Minnesota and Louisville.  Now, with everybody having at least a game under their belt, fans will get to see more "serious" game actions and some more exciting matchups, at least on paper.  With that, let's look at the Game of the Week:

Game Of The Week:

Michigan State vs. Duke: For the second week in a row, this was an overwhelmingly easy choice.  The Spartans had a tough out with Navy over the weekend and will likely be underdogs in this game, but when you have the opportunity to watch two programs like Michigan State and Duke face off, it's going to be a big game.  Michigan State has a 2 game winning streak in the Champions Classic including a win over Kentucky last season.  However, the Spartans have lost their last 3 matchups against the Blue Devils.  This year, Duke is ranked as a Top 5 team built on true freshman Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor, and Justice Winslow.  In early season action, Duke has looked absolutely dominant.  It will be tough for MSU to come out with a win here, but this is also going to be a new event for Duke's young team and the Spartans are a team with plenty of experience.  Could Tom Izzo and company jump out and surprise Duke on Tuesday night?  It would be a huge win for the program and the conference.

Honorable Mention:

Texas at Iowa: This game isn't receiving nearly as much attention as some of the other primetime matchups this week, but fans should not overlook what will be a Top 25 battle between Iowa and Texas later this week.  The Longhorns are bringing back a loaded squad and even though they were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament by Michigan last season, they were pretty solid last year.  Iowa looked good in their opener and senior Aaron White looks like he could be an All-Big Ten play.  This one could also be huge if Iowa ends up battling for an at-large birth to the Big Dance later in the year.

Marquette at Ohio State: Although Marquette does not appear to be what they have been in the last few years, they still look like a solid team and offer the Buckeyes their first chance at a real opponent this season.  Ohio State is going to be a solid favorite coming into this one, but do not overlook this game.  If the Buckeyes can win this one though, it would be a solid win for the program and would certainly help the team's RPI going forward.
