Wednesday Powerlinks: Northwestern Adds Fourth Recruit

While a lot of the teams in the Big Ten have one or less commits for 2014, new coach Chris Collins just got his fourth commitment.

USA TODAY Sports

It seems like so far there hasn't been that much coverage here for Northwestern and Iowa, so it's nice to announce that both schools have landed new commits for 2014. With the addition of Scott Lindsey to the 2014 class Northwestern has a nearly full roster for next year. On the flip side, Iowa lands their first 2014 commit with the rising Brady Ellingson, a deadly option beyond the arc for a team that struggled mightily last season with outside shooting. Either way, it looks like the commits are going to start pouring in from here on out.

Scott Lindsey commits to the Wildcats

Chris Collins is bringing in another player to Evanston in 2014, this time securing a verbal commitment from three star shooting guard Scott Lindsey. The Illinois native also received offers from Iowa and Vanderbilt, as well as a handful of other mid-major programs. Lindsey measures in at 6'5 and 180 pounds and has excelled throughout high school as a shooter. The addition of Lindsey is another piece to an impressive 2014 class being brought in by new coach Chris Collins. So far Collins also has four star small forward VIctor Law, three star point guard Bryant McIntosh and three star power forward Gavin Skelly all set to join the Wildcats next season.

Brady Ellingson commits to Iowa

Three star Brady Ellingson has committed to the Hawkeyes. The shooting guard out of Wisconsin also held offers from Dayton, Missouri and Utah and is the first 2014 commit for Iowa. Ellingson is a deadly three point shooter and will look to help Iowa improve's outside game as the Hawkeyes shot an unimpressive 30.5% last season from beyond the arc.

Troy Williams sidelined with a hand injury

Hoosier freshman Troy Williams may miss up to a few weeks with a hand injury. Besides the injury reportedly happening during a work out, not many details on the injury were reported. It does look like Williams will be good to go by the start of the season so it shouldn't be a big deal for Indiana. Nonetheless, not a good way to kick off the season for WIlliams.

Recruiting Updates
