Well the old name for the links section was a bit bland so I'm trying to spice it up a bit. After spending some time considering possible name changes, I settled on Powerlinks, which for some reason reminds me of the power glove...but that's a different story. Anyways, let's do this.
Indiana wraps up major recruiting weekend
Indiana had a busy weekend unofficially this weekend as the school had four major targets make unofficial visits to Bloomington. The most notable target on campus this weekend was James Blackmon Jr., the four star class of 2014 guard that recently decommitted from the Hoosiers. Also making trips to Bloomington include five star guard Isaiah Whitehead and four star guard guard Robert Johnson, as well as class of 2015 target Malachi Richardson. Richardson is a five star guard out of New Jersey and is currently one of Indiana's biggest targets for 2015. Also, five star forward Devin Robinson recently cut his list down to five and has left the Hoosiers on it. Robinson would be a big get for an Indiana program that has had a relatively quiet recruiting stretch as of late. So far the Hoosiers have zero commits for 2014 and 2015 and some fans have been getting anxious over recent recruiting.
Stauskas Summer Video...Covering Dunks?
Michigan's Nik Stauskas has became well known for his internet videos he posts, especially this one, so when Stauskas posted another video online it wasn't a major surprise. What was surprising, though, is that the three point specialist put up a highlight reel of him slamming it down. The 6'6 guard showed his improved ups and athleticism in what will surely impress people.
It'll be interesting to see if Stauskas attempts to posterize anyone this year in the paint. It's considerably easier to dunk when no one else is on the court but this was definitely an impressive display of athletic talent.
Wisconsin bounces back in Canada
Wisconsin bounced back from their loss to Carleton University with a 101-92 win over Ottawa University. At one point the Badgers held a 20 point lead before Ottawa closed the gap, but Wisconsin ended up prevailing. Sam Dekker once again led the team in scoring, this time with 20 points, and the Badgers shot 56.5% from the field on their way to surpassing the century mark.
Michigan announces 2013-14 non-conference schedule
The Wolverines recently announced their non-conference slate for the upcoming season. The most notable game on the schedule will be their match-up against Duke in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Wolverines will also participate in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, opening the tournament against Long Beach State. The Wolverines will then play either Florida State or VCU in the next round. The Wolverines then could possibly draw Georgetown or Kansas State in the championship game if they advance that far. Also highlighting the non-conference schedule include a November road game against Iowa State, home match-up versus Arizona and facing off against Stanford in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational.
